The Ancient Rome

The visit will start inside the Coliseum, to know the details of the gladiators fights against lions. Afterwards, the walk will lead the group along the Imperial Forums, where we will appreciate the latest discoveries of the archeologists in the Forums of Caesar Augustus and Emperor Trajan.

The Noble Rome: visit of Doria Pamphilj Palace

One of the most important collection of old masters’ paintings still belong to a noble family: Doria Pamphilj. Masterpieces by Raphael, Caravaggio and Velazquez are displayed in a marvellous gallery together with precious ancient sculptures.

Visit of contemporary artist studios

A special tour to discover the contemporary art scene of Rome, including the French artists who live and work in the wonderful Villa Medici (XVI century). Possibility of visiting a private collection of contemporary art in a private apartment.

Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museums and Dinner

Extraordinary chance to visit one of the most impressive and renowned masterpiece by Michelangelo: the Sistine Chapel. We will walk along the amazing exhibition halls which display the art collection of the Pope, we will enter the private apartment of Pope Julius II, where Raphael painted special frescoes and we will end up in the Chapel painted by Michelangelo with the Universal Judgment and the famous Birth of Adam. The site is usually crowded, but we will be the only visitors. Extraordinary opening.

Visit of the Private Gardens of the Pope and St. Peter’s Basilica
A nice walk along the quiet and refined alleys of the private gardens where the Pope usually takes his pauses. After visiting the most important monument of the Vatican State we will have access to the park. Extraordinary opening.

Visit of the charming Villa d’Este, the villa of Cardinal Ippolito d’Este who decorated the mansion with tremendous frescoes and created a marvellous garden of fountains on an enchanting natural slope.

Borghese Gallery

The most beautiful museum of the world, which displays the collection of Cardinal Scipione Borghese in the same way it was in early 1600. Masterpieces by Caravaggio, Bernini, Titian and the the renowned Paolina Borghese by Canova.

In addition to a daily parallel session on humanities, including topics on healthy living, exercise, money management, and many other interesting topics, NWAC 2011 Rome will also feature a night entertainment spot (NWAC Melting Pot) at a fabled “Ducati Caffè” where faculty and delegates will converge for an unprecedented opportunity to make new friendships and connections and indulgence in the arts. The NWAC Melting Pot will feature nightly music performances of popular and classical music ranging from rock, blues, Italian renaissance, and classical composers, performed by some of the top professional musicians as well as by arts-oriented colleagues looking for an opportunity to share their musical skills.

Needless to say, the 2011 NWAC will take place in an incredible city - Rome. The city’s undisputed glory indulge over its seven hills, with a skyline of spires and domes casting a shadow over the inspiring ruins of antiquity.
